Underscored by the lived experience of it’s artists and the lived histories of their communities, this exhibition offers a timely overview of a modern society grappling with questions of belonging, identity and value.
Manifest in a diverse range of image, object and material, the selected works address the commodified and fetishistic nature of our society in order to challenge received notions of culture, class and power.
As such, this critically conscious exhibition challenges the orthodoxy of ruling-class ways of seeing, knowing and telling whilst seeking to rewrite the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves.
